FAQ’s
We know you have lots of questions about your career and we’ll be happy to answer
them in person. But in the meantime, here’s a list of the most common ones we get
asked.
Of course you can! The majority of our management vacancies DO require relevant
employment experience. However, our team member roles are recruited at a local level
and don’t always require relevant experience. We’re often looking for personality
rather than specific experience, so just pop into any of our sites and ask for an
application form.

Look under Job Search and follow the instructions for applying online. You’ll be
taken through a series of questions and then asked to upload your CV, so make sure
you have this to hand (and fully up-to-date).

While you wait nervously twiddling your thumbs, your application will be reviewed
and, if successful, you will be invited to interview! That can either be over the
phone or face-to-face with a member of our recruitment team.

The time taken for reviewing applications may vary depending on the type of role
for which you are applying. We always try to respond to applications as quickly
as possible, but you will be contacted whatever the outcome of your application.

For positions in London Rail, we have a dedicated recruitment centre at Euston which
offers a walk-in service. When you arrive at one of our sessions you will be asked
to take a maths test and a one-to-one interview. Please note that a maximum of 25
people can be seen per session, on a first-come, first-seen basis.

You may reapply for the same role after 3 months have passed since your original
application. You just have to submit a new application form. If you applied through
the recruitment centre at Euston and failed the maths test, you can only reapply
after 3 months.
